Roiju

Justin Roig aka Roiju is a 2nd generation Cuban American Producer, DJ, Visual Artist, and Programmer from Miami, FL. Justin started making music under the moniker Roiju in 2014, after getting his start under the alias "CAST" in the online vaporwave scene of the early 2010s. Navigating his way through Miami's music community playing live shows, DJing, and releasing singles and EPs for years sporadically on Soundcloud under Roiju and different aliases, Justin didn't release his first LP until Spring of 2020. Justin's visual art dates back to 2014, having done the artwork for almost all of his own releases, as well as the releases of other artists and labels such as Miami's own Space Tapes and Schematic Music Company, with his most recent artworks and videos being comprised of STYLEGAN/VQGAN AI generated artwork using a neural network he's spent the last few years building and refining. While his upcoming releases and collaborations are more club-oriented, his musical roots dig deeply into Miami's often overlooked history of weird electronic music, with heavy influences from IDM, Miami Bass, Deconstructed Club, Techno, and Trip-Hop.
